UPDATE: Power restored to Boone Electric Cooperative customers experiencing power outage

UPDATE 7:30 a.m.: According to the Boone Electric Cooperative outage map, power has been restored to customers who experienced an outage earlier Sunday morning.

ORIGINAL: Rain and thunderstorms blew through mid-Missouri early Sunday morning, and it’s unclear if it caused some power outages.

According to the Boone Electric Cooperative outage map, about 50 customers near Ashland experienced a power outage at 4 a.m., around the same time the storms hit Boone County.

ABC 17 News has reached out to Boone Electric communications to find out the cause of the outage. This story will be updated once more information is available.
