Columbia Public Schools will have “safety and security officers” at graduation activities

Columbia Public Schools will have “safety and security officers” at all graduation activities, according to CPS spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark.

“We don’t provide some specifics in order to protect our security,” Baumstark wrote in an email Friday.

Rock Bridge High School graduation will take place Friday night at 7 p.m. Fulton High School graduation will also happen Friday night at 7 p.m.

“We have police security at graduation and everyone will be on high alert for unusual behavior,” Fulton Superintendent Jacque Cowherd said in a statement to ABC 17 News.

Students at Jefferson City High School, Mexico High School and Boonville High School have already graduated.

Hickman High School graduation and Battle High School graduation will take place Saturday.
