Active weather pattern brings daily rain chances and warm conditions

FRIDAY: It will be either a pleasant or a warm day today, depending on your location in Mid-Missouri. Areas along and west of Hwy 63 will top out in the 80s today, while cloud cover and rain east of 63 will keep temperatures in the 70s. Any rain/storms that we do see will stick around through the afternoon hours before finally exiting off to the east into the night. No severe weather is expected, with areas seeing rain topping out near a quarter of an inch. It’s possible we could see isolated pockets of up to .50″ of rain, where the heavier rain situates itself.

TONIGHT: It will be a partly cloudy night across the region, yet comfortable. Lows will bottom out near 60 degrees with light winds out of the east. Patchy fog is likely to develop in areas that experience rain.

EXTENDED: The next chance of rain comes Saturday morning as decaying storms from Kansas drift east. Areas west of HWY 63 have the best chance of getting this rain but many areas east could stay dry through the morning. Clouds will break up in the afternoon and temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s Saturday with more humidity due to southerly winds. Spot storms are possible Saturday afternoon and overnight as a cold front slowly moves east. Rain looks more likely early Sunday morning north of I-70 but the afternoon looks drier. An isolated storm can’t be ruled out Sunday afternoon but most of the day looks dry and warm. A marginal risk for severe storms is in place for Sunday, with the main threat being damaging winds and large hail. High temperatures will stay in the lower 80s Sunday and Monday, dropping into the lower 60s at night. Through the middle of next week we remain in an active weather pattern with on and off storm chances. Watch ABC 17 News and check back here for updates.
