Back to the 80s through the week, with increasing humidity
TODAY: It’s a fairly comfortable start to the afternoon, with many locations see temperatures hover in the lower to middle 70s. Cloudy skies and northwesterly winds up to 10 mph will keep temperatures slightly cooler through the day, as the frontal boundary from yesterday continues to track farther to our south. This will bring in lower humidity values through the evening, with only an isolated chance of storms into the afternoon. Any storms we do see will be confined to areas along and south of I-70.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear skies can be expected tonight, with temperatures falling into the lower 60s. A few upper 50s are possible by morning, as winds out of the northeast up to 10 mph maintain the advection of cooler and drier air.
EXTENDED: Most of mid-Missouri will stay dry through Thursday with the isolated rain chance well to the south of I-70. High temperatures will rise into the mid 80s. We’ll start heating up into the upper 80s Friday as winds shift to the southeast, with humidity increasing as well. Friday looks dry but storms could return as early as Saturday morning from the west. It looks to remain on the warm side as we head into Saturday, as highs will once again top out in the upper 80s, with heat indices approaching 90 degrees. A few more storms are possible Saturday afternoon but will become more likely Saturday night into Sunday morning as a cold front moves through. This will cool us back into the lower 80s Sunday as winds shift back to the north. We’ll watch for the potential of strong to severe storms Saturday and Saturday night.
