Schweizer wins 8th SEC Title

Mizzou distance star Karissa Schweizer won her eighth SEC Title on Sunday night. The five-time national champion won the 5,000m race with a time of 15 minutes and 58 seconds.

After the race, Schweizer said she dedicated the race to her mom for Mother’s Day. Schweizer also took second in the 1500m race on Sunday.

The senior now has the second most conference titles in program history. She trails only Sabrina Dornhoefer, who had nine conference titles.

Up next – Schweizer will compete in the Outdoor NCAA Championships, which will be held June 6-9 in Eugene, Oregon.
