Audrain County man arrested after deputies find quarter-pound of marijuana

The Audrain County Sheriff’s Office posted on its Facebook page saying deputies arrested a man after they conducted a traffic stop Friday night.

Deputies said they conducted a traffic stop of Joseph Peery, 41, of Mexico, around 10 p.m. in the 500 block of west Robinson Street for a traffic violation.

Peery was found with a revoked driver’s license and was arrested, deputies said.

Deputies said that further into the traffic stop, probable cause was developed and they searched Peery’s vehicle. They said they found about 125 grams, one-quarter-pound, of marijuana within the vehicle.

Deputies said they arrested Peery on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a motor vehicle with excessive vision reducing material applied to the side window.

The Facebook post said Peery posted an $11,300 bond and was released.
