Missouri House passes bill that allows $99 million more for K-12 spending

The Missouri House has passed a bill that fully funds the state’s foundation formula.

Lawmakers voted 133-18 in favor of the $99 million more for K-12 spending next fiscal year.

Funding the formula for the second year in the row is historic, and several Republicans commended the record funding.

Democrats argued Wednesday morning that it still wasn’t enough.

This is part of the larger, $28 billion plan that needs to be passed before the end of the session and go into effect in July. There are still more than ten other bills that the House needs to debate and pass.

The Senate considers the bills that get passed out of the House and give final approval.
