Boone County chase ends in rollover crash

UPDATE: The Boone County Sheriff’s department confirms the crash started out as a chase. No deputies were injured.

ORIGINAL: Two people have been taken to the hospital after a single car crash in Boone County.

Gale Blomenkamp, Asst. Fire Chief with the Boone County Fire Protection District, said fire crews responded to a single car rollover crash just before 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Both people in the car were taken to the hospital. Fire crews said one person was thrown from the vehicle, but both patients were conscious and breathing.

The crash closed both lanes at St. Charles and Orie Drive.

Blomenkamp said the crash may have started as a chase. ABC 17 News is working to confirm that detail with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.
