Out with spring and in with summer

TODAY: It’s a gorgeous and sunny Monday afternoon across Mid-Missouri. Temperatures will climb into the upper 70s and lower 80s through the day, accompanied by an easterly breeze up to 12 mph.

TONIGHT: A calm and clear night is in store with temperatures dropping into the mid 50s by sunrise. Winds will be out of the east and shifting out of the southeast up to 9 mph.

EXTENDED: Tuesday looks to be another wonderful day, but clouds will be on the increase by the afternoon. Temperatures will rise to the mid & upper 70s across the area. Our next chance of rainfall arrives late Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning. As moisture continues to stream into the region ahead of a slow moving frontal boundary, we’ll likely see very heavy rainfall with this system. There is a slight risk of severe weather for areas along and east of Hwy 63, where we could see a few strong storms. However, the overall threat for the most part remains the heavy rain that we’ll see through the day. The rain comes to an end as we head into Thursday morning, with temperatures feeling more like summer through the rest of the week. Highs will top out in the mid and upper 80s, with the potential for our first 90 degree of the year as we head into the weekend. Our next chance of rain arrives as we head into the start of next week. Be sure to stay tuned to ABC 17 News for the latest weather forecast and impacts through the week.
