UPDATE: Cause of Mid-City Lumber fire ruled electrical in nature

UPDATE 3 P.M.: Chief David Gehm said the fire marshal has ruled the fire as electrical in nature. He said investigators believe the fire started inside the warehouse, but the exact point of origin is unknown.

Gehm said firefighters used more than 160,000 gallons of water to put out the fire.

UPDATE AT 8:30 A.M.: Fire crews say the fire is now under control, crews are just working to get hot spots.

UPDATE AT 6:55 A.M.: ABC 17 News has confirmed no one is injured after a large fire in Boonville.

Fire officials say they responded to the Mid-City Lumber around 3:45 a.m.

When they got there, there was heavy smoke in front of the building and the back half of the structure was fully engulfed.

Boonville Fire, Cooper County Fire Protection District, Praire Home Fire District all responded to assist.

Crews say they are having issues putting out the fire due to lack of water supply.

ORIGINAL: Fire crews are currently battling a large fire at Mid-City Lumber in Boonville.

ABC 17 News crews can see heavy smoke coming from the business at the intersection of Highway 87 and Interstate 70.
