Fulton man taken into custody for child abuse after child was found with bruises and welts

Fulton Police assisted Children’s Division with a reported case of child abuse on Thursday within the city limits of Fulton.

The investigation found that a child had bruising and welts that appeared to have been made with a belt type object, according to the press release.

Investigators identified Derek D. Ewing as a suspect and he was taken into custody for child abuse. Ewing was transported to the Callaway County Jail.
