PREVIEW: “Battling The Opioid Crisis: Abandoned Children”

According to nonprofit group Generations United, more than 2.5 million children are being raised by family, extended family or close family friends because their own parents are unable to care for them. The opioid epidemic is only adding to those numbers. In other cases, children are placed in foster care.

In an in-depth report on Monday, ABC 17’s Ashley Strohmier talks with foster care providers and a grandmother about the challenges they face to care for children affected by the opioid epidemic.
