Mexico man charged with first degree murder after long-time mistress’ body found on gravel road
A man from Mexico, Mo. has been charged with first degree murder after the body of the woman he was supposed to marry was found on a gravel road in the Middle Grove area of Monroe County.
James Addie, 51, is already married to his wife of 22 years, but admitted to having a 7-year affair with the victim, Molly Watson, 35.
According to official court documents, a person reported finding the body of Watson after trying to take a shortcut on April 27 through a low water crossing east of Highway 151 and Route M in Monroe County. The reporting party saw headlights by the creek, and came into contact with a man who was acting suspiciously about the other vehicle nearby. The reporting party went to the low water crossing from the opposite direction and found Watson’s body.
Watson had blunt force trauma injuries, and a tire print was found in the soil by Watson’s vehicle.
The tire print is consistent with a car that belongs to Addie. When asked about Watson, Addie said he was supposed to marry her at Stoney Creek in Columbia on April 29, but hadn’t spoken with her since April 27. According to court documents, when asked about already being married, Addie said, “I got myself into something I shouldn’t have.”
