Boone County’s April Drug Take Back event ends with 826 pounds of medications collected

The Boone County Drug Take Back event on April 27 and 28 ended up being the largest collection of unwanted and/or no longer needed medications since the creation of the event in 2010, according to an official press release.

The total weight of drugs collected was 826 pounds. The largest local collection was last October with 972 pounds collected.

The results of each collection site can be seen below:

VA Hospital – Columbia – 197 lbs

University Of Missouri Student Center – 23 lbs

Hickman High School – 239.2 lbs

Rockbridge High School – 185.2 lbs

Ashland Police Department- 59.2 lbs

Centralia Police Department – 65.6 lbs

Hallsville Police Department – 57 lbs

All medications collected will be turned over to the DEA for proper disposal, said the release.
