UPDATE: Victim identified in deadly Highway 124 crash
UPDATE 4/28: The Missouri State Highway Patrol has identified the victim in Friday night’s crash on Highway 124 as Donald Ross, 71, of Sturgeon.
According to the crash report, Ross went off the road, hit a mailbox and overcorrected, which caused his truck to flip.
Ross was pronounced dead at the scene.Troopers said he was wearing a seatbelt.
UPDATE 9:22 P.M.: Boone County Fire Protection has confirmed that one person has died.
UPDATE 8:55 P.M.: According to Boone County Fire, Highway 124 West at Hopper has been shut down due to the crash. Drivers should take alternate routes.
