Fire causes estimated $50,000 in damage to Fulton fourplex

The Fulton Fire Department said no one was hurt when a fire broke out in a fourplex in the 100 block of West 10th Street Saturday evening.

Firefighters were called to the area around 6:30 p.m. where they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the single-story building.

Firefighters brought the fire under control in about 15 minutes. Three people were home at the time of the fire, but got out safe.

The Fire Department said the building did not have working smoke detectors.

Fire investigators said the fire was accidental and may have been started by a candle. The Fire Department is estimating about $50,000 in damage to the building.
