Camden County deputies arrest man after car chase, crash and foot pursuit

UPDATE: Welsh has been charged with assault and resisting arrest.

ORIGINAL STORY: Camden County deputies arrested Floyd Welsh, 56, on Tuesday after officers responded to a noise complaint in the 400 block of Whispering Valley Road.

When deputies arrived on scene, they saw Welsh driving a silver Chevrolet pickup through the yard of a residence.

When Welsh saw officers, he sped off and nearly struck a deputy. Welsh was accused of driving at a really high speed and weaving from side to side for three miles.

Officers said Welsh lost control of his car, slid off the road and hit several trees. He proceeded to run from the scene into a wooded area.

Hours later, deputies found Welsh and arrested him.

Welsh faces possible charges of assault and resisting arrest. He is currently being held on a no bond warrant.
