UPDATE: Three crashes impact traffic on Highway 54

UPDATE (9:10 a.m.): The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed three crashes on Highway 54 Friday morning.

The first happened shortly after 3:40 a.m. when a semi overturned at the Mel Ray Curve. No one was hurt.

The second happened just after 7:20 a.m. one mile west of Center Street. The highway patrol said it involved a car and a pickup truck. One person was injured. The road there has been reopened.

The third happened around 7:45 a.m. near Center Street. Troopers said it was a minor crash involving a tractor trailer. No one was hurt.

MoDOT crews are currently helping direct traffic in the area.

Orginal story: Two separate crashes are impacting traffic on Highway 54 Friday morning.

MoDOT officials confirmed the two crashes are on the highway within about a two-mile radius of each other between Holts Summit and the Missouri River Bridge.

One crash involved an overturned semi truck. Another appeared to be a rear-end crash.

ABC 17 News has contacted the Missouri State Highway Patrol and is sending a crew to the scene to get more information.
