Gorgeous spring day to close out the work week
TODAY: The frost advisory that’s in place for areas along and south of I-70 will expire by 9 AM. Although it will be a chilly start to the day, temperatures will quickly climb into the lower 60s. Plenty of sunshine is expected today, with a gorgeous spring day for the entire region. Passing clouds will begin to filter in through the afternoon hours, ahead of our next system that arrives into the weekend. Winds will be out of the east up to 12 mph.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy skies tonight will limit temperatures from bottoming out drastically tonight. Lows will hover near 40 degrees, with winds out of the east up to 12 mph. Wind chills through the night into Saturday morning will remain in the mid to upper 30s.
EXTENDED: Moisture will return from the west bringing a slight shower chance to areas west of HWY 63 Saturday afternoon and to our southwestern counties Saturday night. Most areas will stay dry Saturday but it will be a bit cool due to mostly cloudy skies and an easterly breeze which will hold our high temperatures in the upper 50s to near 60. As a storm system passes to our south Sunday, showers will become more likely in southern Missouri, spreading as far north as I-70. Sunday’s temperatures will also come in below average for late-April, reaching the low 60s. Next week starts off warmer and more like late April as we reach the mid to upper 60s with a chance of showers Tuesday evening. Stay tuned to ABC 17 for the latest forecast and updates.
