Breezy with a mild start, dropping temperatures late this afternoon
WEDNESDAY: It will be a mild and windy start to your Wednesday, as a surface low continues to track through the region. All of Mid-Missouri will see windy conditions, as winds will shift out of the west up to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 35. This will lead to falling temperatures through the day, with a morning high in the upper 50s expected and falling into the upper 40s and lower 50s into the afternoon. Due to the windy and dry conditions expected, fire danger is likely, so outdoor burning is extremely discouraged. Increasing clouds will lead to partly cloudy skies through the second half of the day.
TONIGHT: Tonight we will see partly cloudy skies as winds remain breezy. Northwesterly winds from 16-21 mph will drop temperatures close to freezing tonight, but luckily frost won’t be able to form due to the windy conditions.
EXTENDED: We’ll hover around the upper 50s to low 60s for the rest of the week with dry conditions. As a storm system passes to our south this weekend, rain is possible mainly in our southwestern counties late Saturday, spreading a little bit further north Saturday night into Sunday. Temperatures will be slightly below average this weekend with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s and nights in the lower 40s. Next week is likely to bring warmer weather, as highs climb into the upper 60s and lower 70s under partly cloudy skies. Stay tuned to ABC 17 for the latest forecast and updates.
