UPDATE: Sedalia police arrest two after Sunday shooting

UPDATE 4/16 2:10 pm: Sedalia police arrested two that were allegedly involved with the shooting.

Police said Antonio Harper was injured at the scene of the shooting and fled shortly after. He was later found at a local gas station in Warrenton.

Harper was taken into custody and faces possible charges of robbery, assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

Eric Harper was also was also arrested and is currently being held in the Pettis County Jail on a $250,000 bond. He has been charged with robbery, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

UPDATE 4/16: According to public records, a man has been charged with assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

A complaint states that a man by the name of Eric Harper was charged after he caused serious physical injury to a man by shooting him on April 15.

ABC 17 is working to see if Harper is connected to the shooting on East 4th Street.

ORIGINAL STORY: A Sedalia man is dead after sustaining a gunshot wound on North Summit Avenue Sunday.

According to a Sedalia Police Department statement on Facebook, officers were called to the 1200 block of East 4th Street in Sedalia Sunday for reports of a witness of a shooting.

Officers say the caller had come in contact with the victim, 42-year-old Maurice Harper Sr., before notifying authorities. After contacting Harper, officers determined there was a shooting at a home on North Summit Avenue. The caller did not know Harper before calling 911 Sunday.

The victim was transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center where he was pronounced dead.

The statement did not mention any arrests. “The Sedalia Police Department Investigation Bureau is currently investigating this incident,” according to the statement.
