Unpleasant start to the work week

MONDAY: Have the winter jacket ready as you head out the door with bitterly cold temperatures to start your day. We will be in the middle 20s with wind chills in the teens, yet another abnormally cold weather pattern for the middle of April. Winds will remain breezy throughout the afternoon, only allowing for highs to top out in the upper 40s near 50 by the afternoon with sunny skies. Wind chill will be a factor through the entire day.

TONIGHT : We could be seeing some flurries still hanging around into the evening, as this low pressure system slowly begins to exit the viewing area. The gusty winds that we have had today will stick throughout the night with temperatures dropping into the middle 20s.

TONIGHT : With clear skies in place prepare for another cold night as lows drop back close to freezing. Luckily winds settle tonight, which won’t create much of a wind chill despite winter like temperatures.

EXTENDED : After a chilly start to the day, Tuesday looks to be the warmest day this week, with highs in the upper 60s to near 70, before a dry cold front moves through Mid-Missouri. This front will knock temperatures back about 10 degrees for our Wednesday, but much of the moisture with the system will stay to our north. We’ll hover around the upper 50s to low 60s for the rest of the week with dry conditions before another disturbance affects Mid-Missouri next weekend. As of now, widespread rain looks possible into your weekend with below average temperatures. Stay tuned to ABC 17 for the latest forecast and updates.
