National Weather Service issues freeze warning for Mid-Missouri
It is spring, but mid-Missouri is still seeing some days of wintry weather, including Sunday.
ABC 17’s stormtrack meteorologist Kevin Schneider forecast below freezing wind chills throughout the morning, with the possibility of snow or a wintry mix.
Columbia started to receive some snow around 7 a.m. Sunday.
The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning for all of mid-Missouri because “subfreezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely.” The conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation if they aren’t properly covered.
The freeze warning is in effect from 1-9 a.m. Monday morning.
