National group rallies to support 2nd Amendment rights at state Capitol
A rally in Jefferson City took place Saturday regarding peoples’ right to carry guns and supporting the Constitution in general.
The National Constitutional Coalition of Patriotic Americans met at the state Capitol Saturday afternoon and called on lawmakers to hear them out.
Sean Allen Neumann, a rally organizer who is for background checks regarding guns, said their Second Amendment rights are not granted to them by the government but by God.
All across America, groups met Saturday to showcase their unity regarding their Second Amendment rights.
Neumann said the Second Amendment is to protect people’s rights, so the government can’t take that away.
“Our government is having so many problems right now. We have the left, we have the right. We have people that are fighting and trying to take away different rights. Guns, other things — and standing up for our Constitution is what we need to do,” Neumann said.
The national event is hoping people see the unity among themselves and for Americans to know their rights are in danger.
