UPDATE: Police arrest man after hostage situation in Macon

UPDATE 4/12: Macon police arrested David Yount on Wednesday after officers responded to report of a domestic assault situation in the 600 block of Crescent Drive.

Officers said when they arrived on scene, they did not get a response from anyone inside of the residence. Early information led police to believe that someone was being held against their will.

Troopers, deputies and a SWAT team responded to the scene and numerous attempts to contact anyone inside of the house were made over a period of several hours.

Eventually, officers were able to contact Yount by telephone. He came out of the house and was taken into custody.

A female victim also exited the house and declined any medical treatment.

Yount is currently in the Macon County Jail with a set bond of $100,000. He has been charged with domestic assault and kidnapping.

ORIGINAL STORY: Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to 5th and Rollins in Macon on Wednesday morning.

An ABC affiliate is reporting that a street is blocked off for a possible hostage situation.

ABC 17 reached out to Missouri State Highway Patrol who said there were no injuries.
