One suspect arrested, one suspect airlifted to hospital after stolen vehicle chase in Jefferson City
At 4:30 p.m. on Monday, a citizen reported a stolen vehicle near Missouri Blvd. and Stadium.
While talking to Jefferson City communications, the citizen said the stolen vehicle rammed into the side of his car.
Officers who responded to the citizen’s call attempted to stop the vehicle in the 2500 block of Missouri Blvd.
Communications was able to confirm the vehicle was stolen earlier Monday in Columbia. The stolen vehicle led authorities on a pursuit that ended once the stolen vehicle crashed into a rock embankment at the intersection of Meadows Ford and Route C.
Both suspects were injured in the crash and were taken by EMS from the scene. The female driver had serious injuries and was airlifted to the hospital. The male passenger was released from the hospital and taken into custody for an outstanding felony warrant for absconding on previous charges.
Both suspects are facing charges of theft of a motor vehicle, felony assault, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest by fleeing and numerous traffic related offenses.
