Special Investigative Committee meets today behind closed doors
The Special Investigative Committee investigating Gov. Eric Greiten’s met Thursday in the state capitol after adjournment.
Nothing has been released on what is happening in the closed-door meetings.State Representative Jay Barnes, chair of the House Special Investigative Committee, said they will have a report next week.
House Speaker Todd Richardson issued a similar statement.
“When the committee finalizes its report, we will release it to the public,” Richardson said.
Gail McCann Beatty, House minority floor leader, said she was told the findings were going to be released last Monday, but didn’t receive any report.
Beatty also said she understands the need for having closed meetings, but does not think all of them should have been closed.
“I think other parts of it could have been opened, but that was the committee chair’s choice to make that decision to make it all closed. Which is why getting that report is important, so that people actually know what came from that committee,” Beatty said.
Monday will be the final day of the committee’s original deadline.
Beatty’s main concern is transparency for the people of Missouri into the investigation of Greitens.
