It’s hard to find much warmth in the 7-day forecast
WEDNESDAY: Bundle up as you head out the door Wednesday morning, as wind chills for the first part of the morning will remain in the teens. Despite the sunshine, the cold air in place will only allow highs to climb into the mid 40s. Winds won’t be as breezy, as they back out of the west up to 15 mph. A jacket will be needed through the day, as wind chills will likely stay in the 30s.
TONIGHT: Under partly cloudy skies winds will begin to shift out of the southeast from 5-9 mph, which will bring good news for tomorrow. However, tonight overnight lows will still drop into the low to mid 30s, with wind chills in the low 20s.
EXTENDED: Thursday looks to be the “nicest” day, as highs climb into the upper 50s, close to 60 under partly cloudy skies. You’ll want to enjoy Thursday because another round of cold air is set to track into Mid-Missouri. Following the increasing clouds into Thursday, an upper level wave will track into the region and could bring a few spot showers Thursday evening, with an increasing chance for a wintry mix by Friday. Snow will start out north of I-70 Friday afternoon with rain increasing to the south. As colder air pushes into all of mid-Missouri it will transition to an all snow event Friday evening extending into the overnight hours. Some light accumulation can be expected. Highs Friday and into the weekend will struggle to climb out of the upper 30s and mid 40s, making it known that winter isn’t going anywhere. Another chance of rain and wintry mix moves in Sunday as temperatures stay cool, only reaching the low 50s. Stay tuned to ABC 17 for the latest forecast and updates.
