Man charged with assault after head-butting another man, exposing his skull
A man has been charged with second degree assault after he was accused of head-butting a man.
Deputies said they responded to the 200 block of W. Singleton Street for an assault on March 19. Officers saw the victim sitting on the sidewalk with a large amount of blood on the concrete and on the victim’s shirt and face.
The victim told deputies that Daniel Shallert attacked him outside of his apartment and struck him with a head butt. Officers said there was a gash about the size of a quarter on the victim’s forehead and his skull was visible.
Schallert admitted to the crime and said he was never struck nor threatened by the victim.
Officers said there was a red mark on Schallert’s forehead consistent with the victim’s statement.
