Callaway County deputies arrest man after officers execute narcotics search warrant

UPDATE 5:40 pm: Young has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the court documents, officers received information from an individual who did not wish to make a formal report, that Young held him hostage inside of a residence and robbed him.

It was alleged that Young was armed with a gun and “pistol whipped” the victim during the time. Deputies said they saw an injury under one of the victims’ eyes.

ORIGINAL STORY: Callaway County deputies arrested David Young, 45, on Monday after officers executed a search warrant in the 4200 block of State Road H.

During the search, officers found methamphetamine, guns, marijuana and evidence of drug sales.

Young faces possible charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance.

Deputies said Young has several past felony convictions, therefore he is prohibited by state and federal law from possessing guns.

Young was taken to the Callaway County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
