Much anticipated sunshine makes its return

FRIDAY: Morning clouds will gradually clear and we’ll finally see some afternoon sunshine which will warm us into the mid 50s. Winds will stay under 10 mph, shifting to the southwest by evening.

TONIGHT: Like clockwork clouds build back into the area ahead of our next cold front. Winds hold out of the south from 8-11 mph for most of the night as lows bottom out in the low 40s by morning. Through the early morning we could see a line of scattered, light rain showers to quickly move through the area.

EXTENDED: Winds wil come in from the southwest early in the day Saturday, shifting to the northwest under mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will reach the mid to upper 50s before the colder air moves in. It will feel more like winter Easter Sunday morning with temperatures starting off in the mid to upper 20s with cloudy skies. A narrow quick moving band of snow could arrive north of I-70 by early Sunday morning. It stays cold Sunday, only reaching into the upper 30s to low 40s. Another small band of snow/rain looks more likely south of I-70 Sunday afternoon into the evening, but even this chance is limited. No snow accumulation is expected at this time. The next storm system approaches Monday and we’ll warm up ahead of it, reaching near 50 with a chance of showers. Rain becomes more likely Tuesday as another cold front moves through.
