Man charged with attempting to rape 12-year-old boy
A man has been charged with two counts of sodomy or attempted sodomy after a 12-year-old boy went to officers about an attempted rape.
The victim claimed that Monoleto Morand solicited him for oral and anal sex on several occasions.
According to the probable cause statement, on one of the occasions Morand was drunk. The boy said each time that Morand tried to sexually approach him, he would punch him and run away.
Officers interviewed Morand who claimed the sexual advances would not have happened if he had not been drinking.
Morand is considered a flight risk because he has multiple alias names and has a criminal history. He is currently in the Saline County Jail with a $250,000 bond.
