Three people charged with stealing items to trade for drugs
Three people have been charged with burglary after they were accused of breaking into a shed to steal items for drug money.
According to the probable cause statement, Michael Crider, Chad Duren and Tiffany Cochran entered a shed and stole a Gator and batteries.
Deputies said the Gator was worth $2,600 and 12 used batteries were valued at $264.
Crider admitted to officers that they stole the items in hopes of making money to buy drugs, specifically methamphetamine.
Crider said that while they were driving the Gator away, the batteries started to fall out at different points along their route.
According to the probable cause statement, the suspects traded the Gator for methamphetamine.
Deputies said they found several batteries in random areas near the area where the burglary took place.
Crider was charged with burglary, tampering with a motor vehicle and stealing.
Cochran was charged with burglary and stealing.
Duren was charged with burglary, tampering with a motor vehicle and stealing.
