Active weather pattern to bring more rain into the weekend

WEDNESDAY: It’s a cloudy and cool afternoon across Mid-Missouri, with many locations seeing temperatures in the low to mid 40s. While we will see some slight warming through the day, it won’t feel anything like spring. A light southeasterly breeze will allow temperatures to climb into the upper 40s and lower 50s this afternoon, with some drizzle and isolated showers possible. Fog will also be an issue through the day, as it will limit visibility through the day.

TONIGHT: Scattered showers will pick up through the overnight hours, but heavy rainfall is not expected. Any shower activity will lift from southwest to northeast through the night, with rain amounts less than .25″. By early Thursday morning the bulk of rain will begin to push to the east. Light winds will shift out of the north by morning with temperatures dropping into the low 40s under cloudy skies.

EXTENDED: Temperatures will be cool, reaching the low 50s Thursday and dropping into the upper 30s Thursday night. An active weather pattern will continue through the weekend with on and off rain chances into early April. We’ll warm into the upper 50s Friday and will finally see some sunshine but the clouds return by Saturday morning, along with a chance of showers the first half of the day. Forecast models are trending colder for Easter Sunday, keeping us in the 30s to lower 40s and bringing in a chance of rain and snow showers. There is still some uncertainty as to how much moisture will move in on Easter so please check back for updates. Watch ABC 17 News for the newest forecast and check back here for updates.
