Boone County deputies arrest man accused of slapping stranger

Boone County deputies arrested Anthony Lockwood on Sunday after officers were dispatched to an assault in the 4600 block of O’Neal Road.

The victim told deputies that Lockwood knocked on his door and said he loved the victim’s dog. Lockwood asked to go into the house but the victim said no.

Lockwood was accused of becoming hostile and slapping the victim, causing him to stagger back.

According to the probable cause statement, the victim and Lockwood did not know each other.

Officers said the slap left a red mark on the victim’s face.

Lockwood was found near the victim’s house.

Deputies said Lockwood has prior arrests for violating his probation.

Lockwood was charged with assault.
