MPJ declares for 2018 NBA Draft via Instagram

Michael Porter Jr. declared for the 2018 NBA Draft on Instagram Monday.

In the video, he thanks his family, coaches, teammates and “Mizzou Nation” before making the announcement.

Porter Jr. played in three games for the Tigers during his freshman season. He scored a total of 30 points. The Former Tolton star brought down 20 rebounds and had three steals in 53 minutes of game action.

MPJ had back surgery in Nov. of 2017, which kept him out the entire regular season. Porter Jr. played in Mizzou’s two postseason games, even though he was not 100 percent healthy. He said he came back in order to help the team down the stretch.

The NBA Draft will be held in New York City on June 21, 2018. Porter Jr. is expected to be a top 10 pick.
