Smoke alarms recalled, more than 400,000 have been sold nationwide
Two models of Kidde dual-sensor smoke alarms have been recalled.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, models PI2010 and PI9010 had a yellow cap left on during the manufacturing process.
The sensors that detect smoke have been jeopardized and pose a risk to those who have them in their homes.
More than 400,000 units have been sold nationwide, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
They’ve been sold at:
“Menards, the Home Depot, Walmart and other department, home and hardware stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, ShopKidde.com and other websites from September 2016 through January 2018 for between $20 and $40,” the Commission said.
Assistant. Fire Chief Brad Fraizer said getting guidance on these model numbers are in your best interest.
“It’s recommended that you contact Kidde directly, if you find that you got one (the smoke alarms that’s been recalled). You can also contact your local home improvement center and see if they will help you out with that,” Fraizer said.
Should you have one of these models, Kiddie’s website states you can replace the affected smoke alarms with the instructions given by the manufacture by calling Kidde toll-free number at 833-551-7739.
