Columbia police arrest man wanted by U.S. Marshals after short foot chase

Columbia police took one man into custody after a short foot chase on Cook Ave. Thursday morning.

Officers responded to the area around 8 a.m. for a report of a burglary in progress. Once officers got on scene, they found out there was no such burglary.

While on scene, police told ABC 17 News a man and woman started running away from police. Officers were able to capture the man and run his information. Police learned the man was wanted by U.S. Marshals and took him into custody.

The woman was able to get away.

Police started to clear the scene around 8:40 a.m.
