Firefighters respond to trailer fire in north Columbia

UPDATE 5 pm: Firefighters said the mobile home is considered a total loss.

Officials believe the fire started along a back wall inside of the trailer and the damage was estimated to be $6,500.

The cause is still under investigation.

UPDATE 11:30 am: Firefighters said nobody was home at the time of the fire.

Officials said the trailer had a lot of stuff in it making it a little more of a challenge for firefighters to move around.

A cause of the fire has not been released.

ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia firefighters responded to a trailer fire near the intersection of Big Bear and Blue Ridge on Tuesday morning.

ABC 17 crews were on scene and saw lots of smoke and multiple emergency crews.

ABC 17 is currently asking firefighters about the fire.
