Rain chances through the day

MONDAY: Have the umbrella handy as you’re headed out the door in the morning. Widespread rainfall will be across most of the region as we see a couple rounds of showers work through, and it could be heavy at times. We’ll likely see a brief break in the rainfall in the early afternoon, before another shot of rain stretches across the area. The heaviest rainfall looks to stay along and south of I-70. Highs will top out in the mid to upper 40s.

TONIGHT : Cloud cover will hang around tonight with the chance for showers to redevelop close to I-44. Winds out of the northeast up to 10 mph will allow temperatures to drop close to freezing tonight with wind chills in the 20s.

EXTENDED : Grab your coat early tomorrow as it will be a chilly morning commute. Clouds will begin to break by Tuesday, but mostly cloudy skies will remain with highs topping out in the 40s. A nice warming trend and more sunshine is back in the forecast through the middle of this week. High temperatures by Thursday will be more comfortable reaching towards 60. It will stay dry through most of the week before our next low pressure system begins to impact the area late Thursday night into Friday.
