Moniteau County deputies will host active shooter training event

Moniteau County deputies announced on Monday that officers will be conducting an “Active Threat along with Tactical Med” training at the Tipton School.

Deputies said the one-day course will focus on officers’ responses to an active shooter incident using technical aspects of planning and implementing a rapid law enforcement deployment through practical exercises.

The Tipton Police Department will also be assisting in the training.

Lt. Skyler Viebrock said, “Our staff will be conducting active shooter training to other departments as well as the Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office and we understand the importance of conducting this type of training to include all the law enforcement in public safety. This collaborative training exercise will continue to prepare our staff for a potential critical incident that may develop in our community.”
