Cloud Cover Holding Strong

TODAY: We’ll remain quiet and mostly cloudy on our Sunday. We could see the sun poke through in the afternoon briefly. With these clouds holding on throughout most of the day, we’ll see temperatures only reach the low to mid 50s this afternoon. Winds will be out of the east at 5-8 mph.

TONIGHT : All of this cloud cover is ahead of a system moving into Mid-Missouri in the overnight and early morning hours. Our chance of rain picks up after midnight, with most of the region staying dry until then. We can’t rule out a rumble of thunder as we head into Monday, but nothing severe.

EXTENDED : That rain will stick around to start the work week and linger throughout the afternoon hours before tapering off in the evening. Temperatures will top out in the low 50s across the area. Once this system exits off to the east, it will leave slightly cooler air behind, as highs on Tuesday top out in the middle to upper 40s. We remain dry through the middle part of the week before our next low pressure system begins to affect the area late Thursday night into Friday. We warm throughout the week, which is giving us a chance this system brings storms with it. Be sure to check back at ABC 17 to get the latest updates on the forecast throughout the week.
