Remaiming Cloudy and Cool into Sunday

TONIGHT: Overcast skies and cool conditions stick around into the overnight hours, with temperatures falling into the mid to upper 30s. With winds shifting out of the northeast through the night, some of the thicker cloud coverage may track back to the southwest. Any winds we do see will be light, up to 8 mph. This will give wind chill values near 30 degrees by Sunday morning.

SUNDAY: The quiet and cloudy weather pattern continues into Sunday. While morning clouds are to be expected, into the afternoon we should begin to see some peaks of sunlight. Despite any sunshine we do see, the morning cloud coverage will delay temperatures from climbing into the afternoon. Highs will only top out in the mid 50s across the region. Winds through the day will veer out of the east up to 8 mph. While it will be dry into Sunday, late Sunday night increasing rain chances will begin to approach extreme southwestern portions of MId-Missouri.

EXTENDED: We begin an unsettled week a little early with a chance of rain moving in Sunday night and continuing throughout much of Monday. Most of the rain will be confined to I-70 and south, where up to an inch of rain is likely. Areas north of I-70 will likely see very little if any rain at all. Once this system pushes through the region, we will be seeing cooler air behind it. Tuesday is the first day of Spring and we may have to remind ourselves of that throughout the day, as it appears to be the coldest of the week, with highs in the middle 40s. We are going to see a chance of a few light snow showers in the morning as well to help usher in Spring. We start another warming trend toward the end of next week before the return of more chances of rain Thursday night. Be sure to check back at ABC 17 to get the latest updates on the forecast.
