Columbia police arrest man after officers find marijuana in package

UPDATE: Battle has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia police arrested Brendan Battle on Thursday morning after officers were dispatched to Federal Express in the 1700 block of Burlington Street in reference to drugs.

Police said a package had gotten caught in the machinery while being sorted and had ripped open. The package contained a large amount of concentrated marijuana.

Officers said the package was addressed to Battle in the 700 block of Lee Street. When officers arrived on scene, they found a digital scale, marijuana, a pipe, Adderall, LSD blotter paper and concentrated THC products.

Battle faces possible charges of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
