Safety presentation warns of threats facing churches

From cyber threats to active shooters, church staff were walked through potential threats facing houses of worship by a Missouri State Highway Patrol Captain Saturday.

The free event was put together by The Boone County Office of Emergency Management and the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC).

The presentation was designed by for church staff in charge of building security, and aims “to enhance security measures and provide techniques to aid in preventing any future incidents,” according to a program description.

The first of two presentations was held at Little Bonne Femme Baptist Church Saturday morning. The second will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Columbia on March 20 at 7 p.m. No registration is required.
