Mizzou’s Karissa Schweizer wins fifth national championship

Mizzou track standout Karissa Schweizer is now a five-time national champion after winning the NCAA women’s 3,000 meter indoor race with a time of 8:53.36.

Schweizer is the first ever Mizzou athlete to win five national titles. No other Tiger has ever won four.

The Senior won the 5K Indoor National Title on Friday night racing wire-to-wire. She finished with a time of 15:43, which is just about a five-minute mile pace.

Schweizer still has the outdoor track season to attempt to add to her national-championship career.
