Mild Start to the Weekend
TODAY : Partly sunny skies this morning will give way to mostly cloudy conditions by this afternoon. We’ll see mild temperatures across the area as we warm into the middle 50s with an easterly wind around 10 mph. Cannot rule out some spotty showers as we head into the evening hours ahead of our next approaching system.
TONIGHT: Most of us will stay dry through the day but the overnight hours will be a different story. Showers will begin to move in late tonight with our best chance of rain holding off until after midnight as this system works across Mid-Missouri. Lows will dip into the middle to upper 30s.
EXTENDED : Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, so don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed Saturday night. Those showers will continue into the morning hours on Sunday. With winds turning out of the northwest and ushering in colder air, we could see rain changing over to snow in the early morning hours before returning to rain. Any accumulation will be for our northeastern counties and mainly be on grassy or elevated surfaces. This system will be out of the area by the afternoon hours on your Sunday. Highs will struggle to reach back into the middle 40s with this colder air filtering in throughout the afternoon. When all is said and done, 0.30″ looks like the best we can squeeze out of this system. We begin a quiet work week as we get back to more seasonal temperatures by Wednesday and continuing that warming trend into the next weekend.
