Greitens’ attorneys file motion to compel disclosure of impeachment evidence

Gov. Eric Greitens’ attorneys have filed a motion against the state of Missouri seeking to compel state officials to turn over additional evidence in the criminal case against him.

Greitens is asking the state to disclose the evidence without delay. He is seeking anything to do with the criminal charges or the potential criminal charges “K.S.” is looking to pursue.

The court documents list reports, communications, emails, text messages and recordings that have to do with the potential pursuit of charges.

The motion comes after Greitens was indicted on suspicion of invasion of privacy after he allegedly took partially nude pictures of a woman he was having an affair with without her consent.

The circuit attorney’s office was scheduled to produce all the “discoverable materials” by Wednesday. According to court documents, Greitens received materials but they were not substantial.

The motion says the witnesses in the case did not pursue criminal charges and were initially uncooperative with the media. The witnesses were also accused of being reluctant to fully participate in the circuit attorney’s investigation.

Greitens’ attorneys ended the motion by saying, “Greitens respectfully requests the court enter its order compelling the state to produce the discovery materials.”
