Remaining cool, with warmer temperatures to end the week

THURSDAY: Despite the sunshine today, temperatures will still be on the cool side. A cold northwest breeze up to 10 mph will keep temperatures in the low to mid 40s through the afternoon hours. As high pressure slowly settles into the region through the evening, we’ll see calm winds take over.

TONIGHT: Clouds move back into the area tonight as winds pick back up out of the east up to 9 mph. The easterly breeze will keep cold temperatures with us through the night, as lows bottom out in the upper 20s. Thanks to the light breeze under 10 mph, we’ll only see a wind chill in the 20-25 degree range for the morning commute.

EXTENDED: Winds will continue out of the southeast and we will warm into the lower 50s Friday as clouds build back into the area. Saturday remains mild with highs in the mid to upper 50s with a slight chance of showers through the afternoon with the best chance south of I-70. By Sunday morning we see another shot at rain, which could mix to snow. Any rain/snow that we see in Mid-Missouri will likely about to less than .25″, but still beneficial to a region that is recovering from a drought. Cooler air returns by the end of the weekend with highs on Sunday back in the 40s. Check back here and watch ABC 17 News for updates on the changing weather.
