Police ask residents to lock their cars after multiple reports of stolen items from vehicles

The Boonville Police Department alerted the community on Tuesday that officers have taken several reports of vehicles being entered and items getting stolen.

Police said most of the vehicles were left unlocked. Officers said each year they take reports on similar incidents.

Police are asking the community to make sure their vehicles are locked at all times. Very rarely is a locked car broken into, officers said.

The department is also asking residents to report any suspicious activity by calling 911 or 660-882-2727.
